After completing a degree in Computing at the University of the West of England, Bristol – unlike most of her peers, who went travelling, Lucy stepped straight into the corporate world where she started gaining experience, developing responsibility and learning new skills in an IT support function.
From answering the phone as a First Line Support analyst to taking on more technical roles – It wasn’t until Lucy started working in the Finance industry that she found a clear passion for Service Management.
Lucy soon progressed in the Service Management Sphere and has had the opportunity to work in lots of different industries which include Government, Finance, Insurance and most recently Luxury Retail.
Lucy’s career has involved managing teams, owning processes and leading improvements. Service Management offers a wide variety of challenges which keeps her busy during her 9-5.
If can’t find Lucy in the kitchen trying to become the next Nigella Lawson – you can either find her in the gym with her Personal Trainer (see Woman on the Month – Sophie) or supporting the retail economy (also known as shopping).
Lucy is also a member of the National Trust and likes to spend some Sundays going for walks in our beautiful British country side. (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/)
She is also passionate about the environment and has volunteered her time, at ‘The Big Beach Clean’ clearing plastics from our British beaches. (https://www.mcsuk.org/beachwatch/greatbritishbeachclean\)
Lucy regularly takes part in charity events which include raising money for Children in Need, running the NSPCC 5K colour run and every other year gets involved with the half marathon Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research.
Travel is another passion. With a true wander lust, Lucy is often on a wild adventure in an exotic location.
Lucy has a passion for networking and prides herself on her interpersonal skills. She regularly attends networking events and Expos with the focus and aim to build new connections and grow her personal development. For each event she attends, she writes a blog article about the event, what she learnt and especially who she met!
The goal is simple – for her career, Lucy strives to be the best she can be in her field whilst inspiring others a long her way.
For A Woman’s Network – the ambition is to grow the group around her local area and eventually start leading virtual groups once a month.
Happiness comes in all different shapes and sizes. Where one person could be happy with an action packed life another might be happier with their daily, quiet routine. The goal is not comparing your happiness to someone else’s but to find your own happiness in your own life.
